Privacy notice
This notice describes the information handled by the Misunderstood & Company website and its connected services. It applies to this site, not to third-party websites or wallet software you choose to use. Contact hello@misunderstoodandcompany.com with questions or a privacy request.
Information associated with an account
If you create an account, Supabase Auth processes your email address, password credential, confirmation state, and account session to provide sign-in. The site stores your public username, display name, account type, and any social links or profile image you choose to provide. The browser keeps an authentication session so sign-in can continue between visits.
Members can publish text posts and optional photos or videos. Community posts are available to signed-in members; avoid placing private or sensitive information in posts. Artist profile details and uploaded profile images may be displayed in connection with community activity. Private Release Desk records and audio masters are intended for the artist account that uploaded them; release drafts are not public music releases.
Wallet display
The optional wallet connection requests access through a wallet installed in your browser. The site displays a shortened public address and network for the current visit. The website does not submit that address to its community profile or store it in its own account database. Your wallet provider may separately process connection requests under its own privacy terms. The site does not request a seed phrase or private key.
Service providers and advertising
Supabase provides the site's account authentication, database, and file-storage services. Account and community information needed for those features is sent to Supabase. The Google AdSense verification loader is included on the public home page and the Artist Resources page; this website does not place individual ad units in the sign-in form, member feed, player, private Release Desk, or Marketplace and Coin Hub preview interfaces. If Auto ads are enabled by the publisher in AdSense, Google may choose placements on pages where its code is present; the publisher must review Google's placement and exclusion controls. Google may use cookies, device identifiers, and usage information to deliver, measure, and personalize advertising under its own policies and the settings that apply to the visitor. This site does not include a separate third-party consent-management banner. Before enabling ad serving for people in locations where consent rules apply, the publisher must configure an appropriate consent solution and advertising settings. You can also change available ad-personalization choices in your Google account and browser settings; those controls do not govern every provider.
Links, retention, and your requests
Links to social networks, music services, and other websites leave this site; those services set their own policies. Account, post, and file retention depends on the connected services and the status of the account. To request access, correction, or removal of information associated with you, email us from the account email address when possible and identify the relevant profile, post, or file. We will review the request and explain any steps needed to verify it.
Changes
We may update this notice as site features or provider arrangements change. When the text changes, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of a feature should be based on the notice currently published here.
